Mitsui Fudosan and Global Brain have invested in OPENLOGI Inc. (OPENLOGI), a company that accelerates the growth of e-commerce businesses by networking warehouses and delivery carriers, through 31VENTURES – Global Brain – Growth I Project (31VENTURES), the JPY 30 billion venture investment project jointly managed with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Mitsui Fudosan), mainly targeting growth stage startups.
Warehouses located throughout Japan are mainly comprised of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and their capital and locations are dispersed, with limited capacity for new investment, making it difficult to improve operational efficiency. On the other hand, the logistics needs of e-commerce businesses are continuing to increase, and it is not easy for them to find a warehouse that can respond to flexible daily operations at an appropriate cost while guaranteeing product quality.
OPENLOGI provides flexible and scalable fulfillment services that can be entrusted with logistics operations, transforming physical resources such as warehouses and delivery into an infrastructure that eliminates inefficiencies in the logistics industry. The company’s goal is to build a platform that solves various issues by approaching them from a data-driven perspective, not simply through automation and efficiency, but also through building a new logistics network to support Japan’s growing e-commerce market.
